Overview:

Have you ever felt like you’re being watched, but as far as you can see, there was nobody there? Were you certain? Maybe it was just your mind playing tricks on you – or was it? This is the type of unsettling feeling you can expect throughout playing Liminal Interactive’s first official release: Occulted.

Inspired by the works of H.P Lovecraft, tabletop role-playing games, and narrative driven computer role-playing games, Occulted takes place in a dark and cloudy fictional world inspired by early industrial England.

You will be placed into the mind of Roy as he uncovers the source of supernatural, almost otherworldly activity in an abandoned dockyard within his sea-side home town. Tread with care though, angering the greater forces within the dockyard will bring you to their attention, and they don’t take kindly to uninvited guests. 

Each encounter you have with the paranormal will reduce your sanity, causing you to grapple with your paranoia as you uncover the mysteries of the occult. Are you brave enough to venture into the fog?

About Gameplay:

Explore the abandoned dock yard to uncover what drove everyone away. Find hidden items and gather clues from the notes of those who fled these yards to unlock your path.

Read through notes carefully, and keep an eye out for key details! A return to self-reliant gaming, this game will not hold your hand on finding clues or solving puzzles.

Interact with the text-based dialogue and narration system to engage with the environment around you. Pick up items, eavesdrop on the people around you, and search for clues!

Beware the knowledge of what lies here! Make your choices carefully, any mistake could alert the greater forces in this place to your presence, causing your sanity to slowly slip from your grasp. Your paranoia will compound as your view of the world continually distorts.
